I was born and raised in Hammond and attended St. Casimir Grade School and Bishop Noll Institute.  After graduating from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana with a B.S. in Communications and minors in English and Secondary Education, I taught two years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Grade School in Hammond.  After the school closed, I began teaching at East Chicago Central High School and remained there for 17 years teaching Honors English, Speech, Group Discussion, and Theater Arts/Drama classes. During that time I earned my Masters in Education at Indiana Wesleyan University.  I have been at HAST since it welcomed its first students. I spent 9 years teaching 8th grade English/Language Arts before moving into the Title 1 ELA Teacher position. I currently reside in Munster with my high school sweetheart husband and college graduate son.  Our family hobbies include traveling, boating, fishing, and watching football.
