Hello! My name is Anna Hansel and this is my 13th year teaching at HAST! I received my bachelors through Indiana University Fort Wayne (formally IPFW) back in the spring of 2011.  I have spent the previous 12 years teaching 7th grade math, and am now trying something new!

This year, I will be teaching two new Computer Science courses at HAST. For high school, my class is “Computer Science Principles”, which is a course designed to foster creativity and problem-solving skills through hands-on projects that apply to the real world. For middle school, my class is “Computer Science – Micro:Bit”, which is a course designed to have students become “makers” and learn to design interactive apps that can control physical devices.

I have been married to my husband Chris for the last 16 years. We have two children together – a daughter named Belle and a son named Jack. We also have 5 pets at home: 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a snake! I consider myself a geeky-nerd at heart and am obsessed with many different things: video games, books, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Dungeons & Dragons, binging anime and tv shows, and so much more!
