PLEASE READ THIS:

Parents and staff have weighed in on our reopening plan.  Taking survey responses, numerous separate emails, and Lake County health statistical data (not to mention the anticipated virtual reopening of a number of surrounding traditional public school districts),  pending board approval (Zoom meeting next Tuesday at noon), we are revising our reopening plan to the following:

Virtual learning for all M-F for the first quarter, to review mid-quarter
Students able to come to the building M-Th only (think VLDs preCOVID),, but reserving spaces in advance, week by week, through Jotform:  masks, social distancing, controlled movement throughout the building; students who come into the building will stay at their chosen seat for the day. (Students will have the option to leave early if they are picked up by an parent/guardian)

Instruction will be structured to follow a regular school day, as much as possible, with daily check ins between teachers and students at designated times.

Maintenance staff will regularly wipe down high touch surfaces around the building on day shifts, and night shifts will take care of deeper classrooms cleaning and sanitizing.

Cold lunch service should be available if requested in advance.

I anticipate full board approval of this, but want to be sure that it is on your radar for your planning purposes.  We have had nearly 275 parents complete the survey to date.  Your input was essential to these decisions.

Thank you!

Our staff is ready to start the year and provide the best possible learning experience for our students.
We will continue to keep you informed as we prepare for our reopening.
