HAST is proud to partner with Securly to help keep our students safe both at school and while using school-issued devices at home.
Securly is a student safety and web filtering platform that helps monitor activity on school-issued devices 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The system uses artificial intelligence and trained safety specialists to identify online activity that may indicate a student is at risk. This includes online activity such as web searches, websites visited, emails, and other supported Google Workspace activity that may indicate concerns involving self-harm, suicide, violence toward others, or cyberbullying.
When Securly identifies concerning activity, parents who use the Securly Home app may receive notifications of flagged events, depending on the school’s notification settings. In addition, a school administrator will contact the student’s parent or guardian by phone regarding significant safety concerns.
If Securly identifies an imminent threat outside of school hours, the school may contact local law enforcement to request a wellness check when appropriate.
Any student who is the subject of an emergency Securly alert involving self-harm or suicidal ideation will be required to receive an evaluation by a qualified mental health professional and be cleared before returning to school, in accordance with school procedures.
HAST chose Securly because we share a commitment to creating a safer digital learning environment while maintaining strong standards for student privacy and data security.
