HAST students Japhia Smith(10th), Camden Mathews(10th), and Vitani Harton(12th) and 12th grade English teacher Ms. Burke along with Dr. Egan attended the Optimist Club Oratorical Contest. The event involves students under the age of 18 competing through speeches. The prompt given was “Where are My Roots of Optimism” where such students write about their source of being optimistic. All participants received certificates while the top 3 winners received medals. The first prize winner is actually a student of our own, Camden Mathews, congratulations! Camden will move on to the next level that will take place in Elkhart.
