End of Year iPad Collection

Arranging iPad Collection

• Student iPads will be collected the last few weeks before school gets out so as to ensure all iPads are collected before students are released for the summer.

• About a month and a half before school gets out, the IT Director will send an email to staff with open days for iPad collection.

• Grade levels will decide on the day that works best for iPad collection within the available times set aside by the IT Director

Preparing for iPad Collection

In order to properly prepare for iPad collection, several things must be done:

• Teachers should inform students and remind them often of the date iPads will be collected

• Students may bring in their chargers before iPad collection with their initials on the chargers.

• Teachers will need to have a box available for storing student chargers.  This is very important so we can provide students with the same charger the following year in the next grade level.  Box should be labeled with the grade of the students.

Collecting iPads

• Students must disable find my iPad on their iPads before they can be collected (Settings/Privacy).  This is very important so IT Director can update iPad over the summer or reuse if student does not return.

• Teachers will be provided with a grade level list of all iPads that should be collected.

• Teachers must mark on the list that a student has turned in his or her iPad.

• Teachers will collect all iPads, chargers (making sure chargers are collected in box), and marking students off the list.

• IT Director will gather all iPads and chargers from grade level and store them for the summer.
• Failure to turn in an iPad may result in the replacement cost being charged to the students’ account.
