Dear Hammond Academy of Science and Technology Community,
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the newly appointed school leader of HAST. I look forward to meeting all of you.
I am returning to HAST as I worked with Dr. Egan when HAST was opened in 2010 as the curriculum director and worked on the planning committee for two years before the opening of the school. I am beyond excited to return to HAST and continue the legacy that Dr. Egan has established.
I am very passionate about education. During my career in education, I have been a teacher, principal, and, most recently, assistant superintendent for Hanover Community Schools. During my tenure at Hanover, I oversaw the curriculum and instruction for a growing district of 2600 students in Pre K – 12.
Building strong connections with parents, students, staff, and community partners, I will work hard to carry out the purpose of HAST with the staff, students, families, and HAST board. By continuing to offer our students engaging and demanding educational opportunities that place a strong emphasis on ensuring the rigor of instruction and preparing them for the future, we will jointly concentrate on the use of data to inform instruction and collaborate with all stakeholders to emphasize academic, social, and emotional growth for all students.
