On Saturday, April 27, Laela Johnson, 7th Grade HAST Cheerleader and Hammond Academy Chorus Member, was on her way home from a cheerleading competition when her mother and she were hit by a drunk driver. She was taken to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Four surgeries later, Laela is getting stronger and stronger every day.
