Welcome to week 3!
Thank you again to staff, students, and families for making our opening of school such a smooth process.
Click here for a post with information regarding our Market Day program. Please consider making HAST Market Day a regular feature of your family’s grocery shopping.
On the technology front: We have had some internal network repair issues the last two weeks. At this point, though, we are preparing for the distribution of the iPads to students in the classrooms. iPad distribution will take place this week. Students will review the Acceptable Use Policy with teachers in the classrooms. Students will also bring the AUP home for parent review and signature. Please read this document carefully, as it is the foundation of what students can and cannot do with the iPad, and computers in general, at HAST. The sooner we collect AUPs signed by students and parents, and the sooner families have paid the iPad insurance, the sooner we will be able to allow students to take the iPads home on a regular basis.
Once we have completed the iPad distribution in school, our IT staff will move to the next major project: MacBook sales of our gently used computers. A number of families have already confirmed that they are interested in making this purchase. We will send out the promotional flyer shortly. It will also be posted on the school website.
Speaking of the school website, it is the best place for families to find out about all things HAST, our calendar, our meetings, our events, and our news. Visit the website regularly to stay current.
Mark your family calendar: Open House, Thursday, September 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. here at HAST. In addition to meeting your students’ teachers and learning about the curriculum, you will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from our parent organizations, as well as a number of community groups who are part of the HAST experience.
Have a great week!
Dr Egan
