iPad Rollout

iPad Keyboard Cases

  • Equity for All Students: Because replacements are not available, some students may not have functioning keyboards while others still do. Please know this will not create an unfair advantage. The keyboard is a helpful tool, but it is considered a luxury item and is not required for success at HAST. All students continue to have the same access to learning opportunities.
  • Possible Replacements: If we are able to secure any replacement keyboards, they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. A list of students already in need has been created, and priority will be given to new HAST students before additional requests are filled.
  • Care for Working Keyboards: Students who currently have a functioning keyboard must care for it properly so it lasts as long as possible. Please remind your student:
    • Do not hold the iPad by the keyboard flap.
    • Do not fold the keyboard flap behind the case.
    • Students should NOT write or draw on their cases.

Phishing, Malware, Adware

  • Downloaded browser hijackers
  • Installed Chrome extensions that redirected searches and displayed ads
  • Installed adware or malware on devices

Software Audit & Allowed Software

  • Unapproved software may collect or share student data in ways that violate state and federal privacy laws (FERPA, COPPA, etc.).
  • Some apps can introduce security risks, such as phishing, malware, or unauthorized data access.
  • By auditing, we ensure that only safe, vetted, and compliant tools are being used with students.
  • If you plan to use any software or apps that are not on the Approved Software List, you must first complete the Software Request Form.
  • That software should not be used until approval is given.
  • Both links are also available under Staff Links for quick access.

Support Ticket Breakdown

Support Tickets August 2025
There were 51 tickets in the couple weeks of August we had school. This is lower than normal, but there were also a number of issues handled without support ticket. This may have been the smoothest beginning of the year I have had when it comes to support issues in the last 10 years.

Lost iPads

Lost iPads August 2025
Not many lost iPads in August. All were recovered.

  • Screen protectors, replacement chargers, and deductible payments can be purchased from the Technology store on our website. This is located under the quick links.
