Hammond Academy Dress Code
We expect all of our students to work diligently to attain the best collegiate opportunity they can possibly reach. Many issues influence that success. Atmosphere (where you are), Aptitude (what you know and what you learn), and Attitude (what you believe) all have a major impact on achievement. We believe that an important part of our HAST Atmosphere is our uniform.
Our standard uniform (for young ladies and young gentlemen) consists of:
Khaki or Black Slacks that sit at the waist (Dickies/Dockers/Walmart Brands)
Black HAST T-shirt.
Black, or White HAST Polo*
Closed Toe & Closed Heel Shoes.
Black or Grey HAST Sweaters/Sweatshirts/Hoodies will be permitted.
Skirts/Skorts must come down to students’ knees.
While a HAST logo polo shirt is prefered, a plain black or white polo shirt is also acceptable.
Student will be allowed to purchase appropriate uniform shirts for the school’s business office.
*Plain Black, Grey or, White sweaters are acceptable.
Students will NOT be allowed to wear the following during the school day:
No denim, stretch pants, leggings, cut off shorts, or form fitting pants
No clothes that are distressed, have holes, or rips
No facial piercings (Consequences will follow administrative consequences)
Coats and jackets
Hats, bandanas, scarves, necklaces, and bracelets
Hats are to be stored in lockers and not to be on your person during the school day.
Visible body art
No ear gages or big hoop earrings
Athletic or School Club paraphernalia without School Administrators’ approval
The use of natural colored hair dye is permitted. Any colors that are not deemed natural color will not be allowed.
Teachers and staff reserve the right to respectfully confiscate articles of clothing that do not adhere to the school’s dress code policy. Student will be allowed to retrieve clothes during Friday retrieval .

HAST T Shirt (Only)
Non distressed jeans
Skirts/Skorts must come down to students’ knees
Closed Toe & Closed Heel Shoes
HAST uniform shirts may be purchased from the school bookstore.
1st Offense: Removal from class until parent brings school approved uniform. Student will also be assigned an After School Detention.
2nd Offense: Removal from class until parent brings school approved uniform. Student will also be assigned Two After School Detentions.
3rd Offense: Removal from class until parent brings school approved uniform. Student will also be assigned a Friday Detention.
4th Offense: Removal from class until parent brings school approved uniform. Student will also be assigned Saturday Detention.
5th Offense: One Day In School Suspension (Defiance)
6th Offense: Conference with Assistant Principal and Principal of School
Students that had clothes or other items confiscated throughout the week will be allowed to retrieve their belongings Friday after school.
